Grief and bereavement

Sudden/unexpected loss

Sudden/unexpected loss

Sudden/unexpected loss

The shock of learning that someone has died unexpectedly can be overwhelming and destabalising. Having a space to process your feelings and what this loss  means for you, can really help you through.

Expected loss

When loss is expected, it can still come as a shock and you may experience mixed feelings, especially if you've been caring for the person who has died. Learning to live without the person and buidling a new life can be difficult but is possible.

Anticipatory grief

Disenfranchised grief

When someone is diagnosed with a terminal illness, feelings of grief can become part of our daily lives as we anticipate the losses that are on the horizon, even though the person is still with us.

Disenfranchised grief

Not being able to share your grief with people, when your loss can't be openly acknowledged for example, the death of an ex-partner, a secret lover, or the loss of a beloved pet. These losses can feel especially lonely to go through.

Prolonged/complicate grief

Sometimes, the grieving process becomes stuck and you can't find a way to move forward or find a way to live with the loss. Having a space to talk, and open up new perspectives, to help you start living again will really help.

Additional losses

The losses when someone dies can be far reaching. Loss of identity, loss of social status, loss of future plans, loss of finances, loss of home and these all bring additional stress and pressure at an already difficult time.
